all good things

Have you ever been stuck in a moment you just wish could last forever?

All good things must come to an end. THIS REALITY SUCKS.

If it is true that without the hurt, the heart is hollow, then I would think that making good things come to an end would make complete sense and therefore be extremely acceptable. You have to cut happiness short in order for you to enjoy it more.

However, if the heart can be whole without the hurt, then what is the point of being sensible and following what your mind dictates?

It's all a blur to me. Life is nothing but a puzzle no one can solve.

paradise found

"Never refuse an invitation
Never resist the unfamiliar
Never fail to be polite
And never outstay your welcome
Just keep your mind open and suck in the experience
And if it hurts, IT'S PROBABLY WORTH IT.

You hope and you dream
But you never believe that something's going to happen for you
Not like it does in the movies
And when it actually does
You expect it to feel different
More visceral
More real"

In New York, it's as real as it gets.

for you, my love

I don't understand
Your love is so cold
It's always me that's reaching out
For your hand
And I've always dreamed
That love would be effortless
Like a petal fallin' to the ground
A dreamer followin' his dream

It seems so much is left unsaid
But you can say anything
Anytime you need
It's just you and me

I know that you're true to me
You're always there
You say you care
I know that you want to be mine

Where is your heart?
'Cause I don't really feel you
Where is your heart?
What I really want is to believe you
Is it so hard
To give me what I need?
I want your heart to bleed
That's all I'm asking for
Oh, where is your heart?

an inquiry on love

If your heart has been broken so many times, is it possible for you to reach that point when you're left with such a small piece that it can't possibly break anymore?

a truthful mathematical moment

"Prime numbers are what is left when you have taken all the patterns away. I think prime numbers are like life. They are very logical but you could never work out the rules, even if you spent all your time thinking about them."

-from The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time by Mark Haddon

sugar-rush thoughts

While I was having a peanut butter sandwich with caramel and marshmallow fluff (all the fatty ingredients one needs), I had a flashback of scenes from Before Sunrise and Before Sunset. I then realized that my whole romantic life was defined by those movies.

I am a sucker for overnight instant intimacies because I believe that it only takes a couple of hours of good conversation to define what kind of friend/boyfriend a person will be. Sounds ridiculous, I know, but it's how I've tried to read people for as long as I can remember.

It's absurd...two complete strangers from different places, not knowing anything about each other, falling in love overnight because of how meaningful their exchange of ideas turns out to be. It's absurd, but possible. Sometimes, conversations about the most mundane topics in the world determine what kind of person you are.

No wonder I always fall too fast. Most people can naturally talk, if they are open to getting to know you better.

Paola's right...I shouldn't wear my heart on my sleeve anymore. If guys found out that for some women, all it takes is a couple of hours of talk to make them fall in love, that will be the end of our kind.

It's damn hard being a woman in this world of mind games.

song quote #416

"I pick myself up off the ground
To have you knock me back down
Again and again..."

What's even better than being silly is finding someone who can be silly with you :) This was a great last day in NY for Nin.
